Temitope Erinosho joined HPDP in 2010. Her research focuses on the prevention of obesity and cancer risk in underserved children and families through interventions that promote healthy eating and physical activity behaviors. Environmental assessments of nutrition and physical activity practices and policies, and children’s dietary intakes and physical activity behaviors in child care settings are also important aspects of her research. Dr. Erinosho recently completed an NIH-funded Career Development Award to develop and pilot-test a parent-focused life skills-based intervention to promote healthy weight behaviors in preschool-aged children from low-income families. Her recent work also include studies funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Healthy Eating Research program to assess the nutrition and physical activity environments of child care settings in Southern states with high obesity levels.
